The Electronic Monitoring Cable Anchor (EMCA) an innovative invention from Sandbox Mining starts trial runs within the mines this month. This unique device, patented by Sandbox Mining, will now be able to notify Mining officials of seismic activity which is the main cause of cave-ins, thereby allowing early evacuation for further investigation of the rock movement. Full production commences at the end of October.

Building Management System
Sandbox has implemented a comprehensive Building Management System in one of the financial market leader’s Data Centre. Due to the nature of the Company, a multitude of fail-safe mechanisms had to be installed as backup to the backup systems, ensuring an environment of the highest possible fault tolerance. The sustainability of the building has been increased immensely, even in the event of a national multi-grid shutdown. The building, now near a Level 4 Green Rating, is inevitably being hailed as the most advanced Data Centre on the African continent.
Largest Logistics System in SA
Sandbox was intimately involved in implementing one of the largest, most advanced logistics systems in the country. The system schedules, facilitates, controls and monitors the delivery of huge volumes of product to well over 100,000 destinations per week. The impact of the system has a huge ROI to the implementing organisation and required our technical staff to overcome very significant obstacles in incredibly tight time lines! To complement the deployment of this radical system, the training of thousands of employees in only a few short months by our Process Adoption Team was no less remarkable!
